This painting is from the series of oil painting classes I am currently running at The Customs House. It shows a coastal scene with the indistinct silhouette of North Tyneside Priory visible on the horizon.

The reference for this painting was taken during the return leg of a long walk from Marsden Rock to South Shields. Despite being a warm and sunny day in the middle of summer, the air was heavy with sea fret. This painting shows the moments of stepping out of the sea fret and regaining visibility.
