This street painting captures the busy moments before sunset in Shifen Old Street in Taiwan. The painting highlights the two central figures, a father and his child, as they walk towards the viewer and away from the large crowd of tourists and shoppers within the central market of Shifen. High above the duo and into the background, a small sky lantern can be seen rising into the distance, breaking the emptiness of the sky above them.

This painting was included in my first solo exhibition Like Ships in the Night.
